We make the world colorful. And you join in by purchasing or gifting a blooming sponsorship for 10, 25, 50, or 100 m². Here we then sow colorful flowers. Our blooming sponsorship not only makes your loved ones happy but also brings joy to numerous bees, bumblebees, and butterflies!
The idea behind the blooming sponsorship:
We want to make the world more colorful! That has been our goal since our founding. And where better to start than right outside your own doorstep? So we sat down with farmers from the region and presented our idea: We want to transform agriculturally (previously) used land back into colorful flower meadows. (Preferably many, many hectares and ideally nationwide. But one step at a time...)
First, we secured areas in our home region, the County of Bentheim, and now more than 50,000 m² of flower meadows are growing there – for bees, bumblebees, butterflies, and more. Amazing! This would never have been possible without our blooming sponsors. Because only with your help can we realize the idea of making the world a little more colorful!

What is a blooming sponsorship?
A blooming sponsorship is a donation for creating flowering areas, protecting the climate, and preserving biodiversity. Previously used agricultural land is transformed by us into colorful flower meadows thanks to your donation, creating valuable habitats for insects, birds, and other endangered species. We take care of everything, and you receive regular updates via email and on Instagram.
I have the code. How can I activate my flowering sponsorship?
The flowering sponsorship activation code of the "Stadtgärtner Blühpatenschaft" can be activated at www.blumenwiesen.online. Just visit the site and enter the code.
Why are flowering areas so important?
Bees, bumblebees, butterflies, and many other animal species are finding less and less food and habitat. Contrary to what is assumed, flowering areas are very rare, especially in rural areas, and are being replaced by monoculture fields. Pesticide contamination is still a big problem! That is why, with your active support, we want to create more flowering areas again – as a food source and habitat, these can counteract insect decline and thus preserve biodiversity.
Where is "my" flowering meadow?
We started creating flowering areas right on our doorstep, in Nordhorn and the surrounding area. This year you will find our flowering meadow on the bypass road in Nordhorn (GPS: 52.471722, 7.143861) and in Klausheide (GPS: 52.471725, 7.143860). It was important for us to act locally first and get involved directly on site. For us, this is the first logical step. But who knows what the future holds? Of course, we hope that someday we can make areas bloom all over Germany.
When is sowing done?
Every activated flowering sponsorship is planted by us in the following year. So, for example, if you buy a flowering sponsorship in November 2025, we secure the corresponding additional areas in January 2026 and then sow the corresponding number of square meters in spring 2026. We will keep you updated here or via our newsletter (see below) about the sowing, the development of the meadow, and all further steps!
Which plants are sown?
We sow native wildflowers and herbs that are well adapted to the climate and location. The seed mix is specially tailored to bees and other insects and provides both food and habitat. If our big dream comes true and we can lease fallow land for several years and turn it into flowering areas, the seed mix sown will, of course, consist of perennial, winter-hardy plants that develop further and self-seed the following year.
Can I visit "my" flower meadow?
If you come from Nordhorn and the surrounding area, then feel free to visit our flowering meadows! On the map above, you can see exactly where to find our flowering areas.
Can I pick the flowers from my meadow?
That would be counterproductive. The flowers are meant solely for the busy bees and their friends. Picking is strictly forbidden. ;)
What does my flowering sponsorship achieve?
Plenty! Ecologically, your flowering sponsorship is an important contribution. You create new habitats and food sources for animals and help the soil regenerate. You contribute to greater biodiversity. It’s not just about bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. Soil animals, spiders, birds, and small animals like mice or hamsters also find a protected refuge, nesting sites, and winter quarters here.
Can I cancel my flowering sponsorship?
You don’t have to! Because your flowering sponsorship is a one-time donation. It expires after one year.
